If you work from a building platform rather than down in the dirt there is a hot way to make your stakes.

Most builders drill holes in their platform but then you are limited to those positions. Also if you build several different size canoes you end up will lots of holes.

I use a battery pack drill/screwdriver and wood/sheetrock screws. I screw them into place and unscrew them, move the post and screw them someplace else. I can get them right up snug or loosen up the area.
